What is the source of protein in nutrena safe choice maintenance . and original? Thank you
Hi Marsha,
Thank you for your question regarding the source of protein in SafeChoice Maintenance and Original. The protein will come from the naturally occurring protein (amino acids) in ingredients, primarily wheat midds, distillers grains, soybean meal and dehy alfalfa, depending on the specific formula.
As we measure not only the protein content of ingredients but also the essential amino acid content, we add lysine, methionine and threonine as needed to make certain that we are meeting the essential amino acid requirements of your horses.
